On November 8th , T.A. Marryshow Community College held a ceremony to award the “Campus Cultural Contribution Award” to the Confucius Institute, in recognition of its outstanding contribution to promoting Chinese language and culture. Vice Principal Dr. John Telesford, on behalf of Principal Andrew Abraham, presented the award to the Confucius Institute team.
The ceremony was attended by Dr. Fan Jiang, the Resident Director of the Confucius Institute, Mr. David Ambrose, the Grenadian Director of the Confucius
Institute, co-directors Mr. Aaron Gay and Mrs. Norella De Gale-Philip, as well as Confucius Institute teachers Ruojing Wang, Chen Huang, Wanlin Niu, and Xiaoying
Zhang. Since its establishment, the Confucius Institute has introduced a variety of cultural activities and language courses, bringing Chinese culture into the campus life of T.A. Marryshow Community College and greatly enhancing cultural exchanges and friendship between China and Grenada.
The Confucius Institute not only provides students with opportunities to learn Chinese but also offers a wide range of cultural activities, allowing faculty and
students to experience the richness of both traditional and contemporary Chinese culture. These efforts have significantly contributed to fostering a multicultural
atmosphere on campus and advancing the college’s international development.
The awarding of the Campus Cultural Contribution Award to the Confucius Institute is not only an affirmation of its achievements in promoting Chinese culture but also a recognition of the team’s relentless efforts. “Using the pen as a plow to cultivate cultural fields, and language as a foundation to build bridges of communication,” the Confucius Institute will continue to actively promote cultural exchange between China and Grenada, contributing to the friendship and cooperation between the two nations.
