Lecturers

Applications are invited to fill the post of Assistant Lecturers in the following areas: Secretarial Science,Hospitality Arts, Food and Beverage, Art and Design, Agriculture Science and Horticulture, and Electrical Installation. The holder of the post is directly responsible to the respective Chair and through him/her the Dean of the School.

The successful candidate will be required to perform the following duties and responsibilities:

Responsibilities

The primary duty of the faculty is to carry out the teaching of the courses to which they are assigned. Additionally, faculty members are required to:

1. Plan, develop and maintain the currency of the curricula of the college;

2. Evaluate student performance and assign grades for each student in their courses;

3. Recommend students for academic awards, degrees and certificates;

4. Participate in the governance of the academic programs, peer evaluation, and course and programme review;

5. Engage in scholarship to maintain professional growth;

6. Guide and counsel students in planning their academic programmes and in the selection of their courses;

7. Participate in the public ceremonies and extra curricular events of the College including, but not limited to, sports day, convocation and graduation;

8. Observe the standards of the Institution as established by the College Council;

9. Uphold the highest standards of professional ethics;

10. Provide service to the community in areas of professional competence by service on boards and other public activities;

11. Attend staff meetings; and

12. Undertake any related duties assigned from time to time.

Qualifications:

► A Bachelor or Master's degree or Professional qualification in relevant discipline or Professional qualification will be considered.

Experience and Abilities:

► Evidence of good and innovative teaching practices
► Ability and willingness to teach prescribed courses
► Ability to plan and organize work
► Excellent oral and written communication skills
► Ability to communicate with, advise, and counsel students regarding academic matters, including the selection of courses and programmes
► Commitment to continuous professional development
► Commitment to high professional and personal standards of work and of conduct
► Strong interpersonal skills
► Ability to work as an effective member of a team
► Ability to work under pressure

Remuneration

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
