CARICOM Secretary General, Ambassador Irwin LaRocque paid a courtesy call to the T.A. Marryshow Community College on Monday, January 23, 2012. Ambassador LaRocque, accompanied by Special Advisor Mr. Neville Bissember, met with TAMCC’s Principal, Dr. Jeffrey Britton and Registrar, Dr. Nigel Gravesande. During the meeting the officials discussed matters of engaging tertiary institutions in providing consultations and promoting CSME initiatives, as well as the Ambassador’s vision for Caribbean integration.
Ambassador LaRocque expressed a keen desire in engaging the youth during his visit and is later scheduled to meet with TAMCC students who previously participated in the Students Engaging the CSME through Field Promotions. This project, funded by the European Union, allowed 25 TAMCC students to represent Grenada in Antigua as observers of the implementation and functioning of the CARICOM Single Market and Economy.
