On Monday November 17th, 2008, there was an historic signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Medgar Evers College, New York and the T. A. Marryshow Community College (TAMCC).
Signing on behalf of the Medgar Evers College was Professor Eugene Pursoo, while Ms. Jeanette Du Bois - Deputy Chairman of the T. A. Marryshow Community College Council signed on behalf of the local institution.
The Memorandum of Understanding between the two (2) institutions seeks to inter alia, enhance cooperation in areas such as:
- Staff Development Training
- Curriculum Training
- Student Exchange
- Staff exchange
- Joint Research and
- Resource Sharing
Further, both institutions will attempt to cooperate in the strengthening of institutional and technological capacity for the delivery of the distance and online education.
For the T. A. Marryshow Community College (TAMCC), a critical component of the Memorandum of Understanding will be to collaborate with the Medgar Evers College in determining matriculation requirements for TAMCC’s Associate Degree graduates into the Baccalaureate Degree Programmes at the New York Institution.
The Memorandum of Understanding came into effect on November 17th, 2008 and will be effective for an initial period of three (3) years. The signing of the agreement was witnessed by Members of the Senior Management Team (SMT) and covered by the local media.
