The T. A. Marryshow Community College invites applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the the following position(s);
- Director of Information Technology (IT) Services


DIRECTOR OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (IT) SERVICES
will be required to inter alia:

  1. To lead strategic and tactical planning for academic and administrative I.T. Services in the College;
  2. To develop and implement policies and procedures for I.T. Services in the College;
  3. To collaborate with the Bursar’s Office through the Office of the Registrar in developing and implementing procurement policies and procedures for the I.T. Department that ensures that the College obtains the best value for money without compromising the I.T. requirements of the College;
  4. To collaborate with the Bursar’s Office through the Office of the Registrar in developing and managing the budget for I.T. Services;
  5. To manage the I.T. Services of the College including the provision of hardware and software technical support;
  6. To supervise the staff of the IT Services Department;
  7. To collaborate with Department Heads in the development and delivery of I.T. Services in the College;
  8. To advise Senior Management on the development of new and emerging technology development and or the acquisition of such to meet the needs of the College;
  9. To engage and collaborate with national, regional, and international institutions and entities in the development of I.T. Services of the College;
  10. To participate in national, regional or international I.T. seminars and for a that will be beneficial to the College (It is to be noted that such participation is subject to approval by the relevant authority);
  11. To undertake related duties assigned from time to time.

Potential candidates should posses at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or computer-related field and a Masters Degree in Management Related field.  Project Management qualification or experience will be an asset. The candidate should have at least five (5) years experience in Senior IT management positions. (Experience in Higher Education is an asset) and provide evidence of successful planning and implementation of technology initiatives in both an academic and administrative setting.

 

KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Excellent management and project management skills.
  • Expertise in different aspects of the technology itself (e.g client/server, networking, internet/ intranet technologies, administrative systems, communications/ wireless technologies).
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • An ability to work in a collaborative manner with all stakeholders.
  • Keeping abreast of new and emerging technologies.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative manner with all stakeholders, including students, faculty and the Ministry of Education skills.
